DescriptionMottled light and dark blue flambe with speckled wisteria blue matte glaze. Amphora shape with 2 applied handles. This remarkable Vasekraft vase with molten overlay illustrates Fulper's concern with both visual and tactile qualities that make its pottery so exciting. Effect of firing clay body and glaze together at one time made the fusion more complete. The result often resembled organic surfaces such as volcanic lava. Several glazing techniques are combined here.Published ReferencesRobert W. Blasberg. _Fulper Art Pottery: An Aesthetic Appreciation, 1909-1929_. New York: Jordan-Volpe Gallery, 1979
