DescriptionLarge rectangular mirror (one of a pair: see M51.1.62) with boldly coved molding. A running acanthus leaf and shell composition ornament flanks the gilt liner. The deep cove is ornamented with a running strip of oak leaf, berry, and acorn carving. The outer projecting edge of the frame is ornamented with a molding of three reeds. Composition laurel leaves are applied to the projecting reeds at two-foot intervals. The side, top and bottom edges of the frame retain original yellow ochre paint.
