Label TextSharon Beachum American (b. 1953) Pam from the Prized Possessions Series, 1987 Electrostatic print Gift of the Artist 87.319 Sharon Beachum was one of four artists invited to produce a body of work for the Chrysler Museum in 1987. The work was to be made using a full color copier developed by Sharp, a fairly new product in 1987. Each artist had a copier in his/her home for two months. Pam is part of Beachum's resulting series titled Prized Possessions. In other works, the artist has primarily been concerned with society stereotyping women, yet the electrostatic image is meant as a collaged portrait of the woman Pam with possessions that are important to her.
