Description25 pieces of chocolate in a box, cast in two-digit numbers in high relieg in invese value and height to the darkness of the chocolate. Contained in a clear plastic box, with lid vacuum formed to the chocolate.Bittersweet is a creation by Broad Museum architects Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio and Charles Renfro collaborating with Chocolatier Richard Capizzi.
ProvenanceThe work was a December 2011 gift of the Peter Norton, Los Angeles, who commissioned it from the artist. The work was a gift to the donor, Lynn Gumpert, from Peter Norton. Lynn Gumpert donated the work to the Chrysler Museum of Art in September 2016.
