Originally trained as a sculptor, Zeke Berman began to experiment with photography in the late 1970s, employing his own constructions as subject matter. Berman's work challenges the viewer's perception through optical illusion and paradox. His images suggest dimensions, but exist on a planar level. Committed to conceptual modes of art making, the photographer transforms the physicality of his subject matter into abstract ideas. There are two photographs by Berman in the Chrysler collection.
