DescriptionDepicts Yosemite Valley with tall rockfaces on either side. Label TextMarguerite Thompson Zorach American, 1887–1968 Yosemite Valley, 1920 Watercolor on paper Yosemite has long been a destination for American artists lured by its grandeur and imposing scenery. Marguerite Zorach presents its mountainous features in somewhat abstract terms, but the structure and shape of the iconic Yosemite Falls at the center is unmistakable. During the summer of 1920, Zorach and her husband William traveled to Yosemite National Park, where she produced a group of watercolors. The work of William Zorach is also featured in this exhibition.
