DescriptionThe Virgin holding the dead body of Christ after he has been taken down off of the crucifix. Mary Magdalen raises her arm's in grief and despair. John weeps over Christ's mutilated hand. Int he foreground are spikes and a pot, referring to Christ's crucifixion, deposition, and entombment.
