S. Princess Anne was largest and fastest automobile and passenger transport of its type in the world. At 260 feet long, the vessel could carry 100 automobiles and 1,200 passengers. The distance between Cape Charles and Little Creek was 26½ miles, requiring a crossing time of almost 2 hours.
