Label TextThomas Norton Tumbler Midwestern United States Ca. 1831 Blown lead glass; engraved. Inscribed: in a shield T N/ 1831 Museum Purchase 79.167.2 This tumbler descended in the family of Thomas Norton, who lived in Wheeling, West Virginia from the late 1820s until about 1840. This tumbler is similar to some engraved in Pittsburgh, but could have been made in either city.
