DescriptionThis is a monkey-face jug, made of alkaline glazed stoneware. The dendritic ash-glazed face jug is glazed with a dark olive brown with darker drip lines. It is in the form of an elongated head surmounted by an applied handle, ears, nose. There is a hole in the top and a spout extends from the back of the upper head. The eyes are blue and white. The glaze falls short and drips at the bottom of the pot exposing red clay.
