The main print shows the James River waterfront and the countryside beyond. Three small prints at top show "C.M. Braxton's Residence" at left corner, "County Court House" in center and "Low's Block" in right corner. Below ship in dry dock picture of the shipyard, are pictures "Office of the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co.", "First National Bank" and "Pumphouse Newport News Light and Water Co., Located near Lee Hall, Va."
