DescriptionThis is an electrostatic print made on Sharp color copier.Label TextRonn Ives American (b. 1950) Midnight, December 6, 1941, 1987 Electrostatic print Gift of the artist, Ronn Ives 87.321 The setting for this image is, of course, the evening before Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, thus drawing the United States into World War II. Ives was one of four artists invited to produce a body of work for the Chrysler Museum using a full color copier, a fairly new product at that time. Through the courtesy of the manufacturer, the Sharp Company, each artist had a copier in his or her home for two months. The work created by the four artists was exhibited in 1987 with the title Four Sharp Artists. Two of Ives' prints from this project are in the Chrysler collection.
