DescriptionRelief in the round of a man cut at chest height. He is turned left, and is presenting a loaf of bread in his right hand, a round jar with handles in the left one. He is wearing a shoulder-length wig, and a transparent tunic with broad sleeves to the elbows.

Label TextRelief Figure New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, reign of Amenhotep III, 1390-1352 B.C.E. Limestone Gift of Walter P. Chrysler, Jr. 77.862 This fragment, depicting an offering scene, originally belonged to a larger tomb relief. The male figure-his fine, shoulder-length wig and clothes suggesting his elevated status-makes an offering to the deceased of bread (upheld in his right hand) and, most likely, beer (in the vessel he upholds in his left).
