DescriptionThis salt dish, of colorless lead-formula glass, is pressed in the shape of a sidewheel steamboat. This pressing has an underfill that affects about half of the rope foot. The thick flashing on the stern and elsewhere suggest that this object may have been made from a badly worn mold, but inadvertent fire polishing makes this difficult to determine with certainty. Neal pattern BT1, "very rare." Published ReferencesRichard W. Oliver, TWO IMPORTANT GLASS AUCTIONS, No. 163. L.W. & D.B.
