DescriptionOil on canvas painting showing a man on his knees, untying a woman's corset dress. Both figures are shown from the side, facing to the left of the painting; the man faces the woman in profile, while the woman looks towards the viewer, over her left shoulder. Behind the pair are a canopy bed, and on the left of the picture is a fireplace. "THE WEDDING NIGHT" is painted along the bottom of the work, with artist signature and date above the letter T in "night."
