DescriptionThis UNTITLED work is a cube cast in clear glass with a bluish tint, with imaginary landscape in relief on underside and trapped air bubbles; underside milled, sandblast matt-finished, sides and top polished. The artist uses old milling machines salvaged in Rhode Island to create his extremely precise forms. He mills his plaster mold to prepare it for the casting. If he wishes to cut additional details into the cube, he uses milling equipment fitted out with diamond ends to carve it with precision. Sandblasting is then used to give the underside a matte finish. Internal bubbles are introduced during the casting process by layering.
