Bravo lived in the midst of the Mexican Revolution and was deeply affected by its horrors. His work portrays the people and lifestyles of Mexico with a somber formality. In the 1930s, his photographs were exhibited in Paris and were widely admired by the Surrealists. This is one photograph from a portfolio of 15 included in the Chrysler collection.
