DescriptionThis is a cherry with stained glass Hall Tree made to commemorate the Jamestown Exposition in 1907. It features raised panels of Lincrusta Walton (an early type of linoleum) of John Smith landing at Jamestown. The form of the hall tree resembles the facade of a building, with thin columns, a stained glass "window" (in this case, backed by wood), and a projecting fish-scale shingled roof. This piece of furniture could not only hold hats and umbrellas but serve as a seat for someone to put on their boots or shoes.
