DescriptionThis is an oil on canvas of Venus, the Roman goddess, hitting Amoretti on the back. Venus, facing left, wears a long, full skirt with a sash around her waist and her blouse is open, revealing her chest. In the left bottom corner, Amoretti kneels in an prayful position toward the right. Spreading their wings for flight, two doves prepare to spring from the painting on right side.
