DescriptionThe David L. Hack Civil War Photography Collection. This is a black and white photograph of a large, three-story building on a corner. There are a handful of people out in front of the building. A series of steps leads up to a square shaped front porch area where a few people are seated. The buildings that branch off to both sides are not as tall as the one pictured in the center. The building to the left looks like a shop with a display window in the front. Several windows in the buildings are open. The largest building in the center has a square patch of roof shingles of a different shade. Off to the right of the building near the ground stands a small sign that reads "Oyster Bay". Even farther to the right, across the dirt street from the largest building stands a man alone looking at the building. The street extends back with the rows of buildings and a few trees are visible. This is from _Gardner's Photographic Sketchbook of the War_ (Hack Collection No. 2].
