DescriptionBright gold medallion with image of the two natives sitting on a bank, waving at an incoming ship. The verso has an inscription (see below), with olive branches surrounding the text and an eagle at the base. Found with Jamestown Exposition items in Library files.

Brooks Johnston, 1907 Gold Chrysler Museum of Art 0.3944 The winners of the various contests held during the Jamestown Exposition were presented with gold medals, as were individuals who had performed outstanding service for the exposition. C. Brooks Johnston served as Chairman of the Board of Governors. Barton Myers received a similar gold medal in recognition of his work in organizing the tercentennial He may also have worn a director’s pin similar to the one shown here.
