DescriptionSmall red photo album holding 20 Polaroid photographs of people. Numbered F122.Label TextAndy Warhol American, 1928–1987 Little Red Book 122, 1971–72 Photo album with 20 Polacolor Type 108 Dye diffusion prints (Polaroids) This unassuming photo album exposes Andy Warhol’s fascination with celebrity. Warhol made hundreds of Polaroids of his friends and acquaintances, many of whom were actors and socialites. Although they were accustomed to the prying eyes of press and public, they did not always welcome the intrusion of Warhol’s camera. Bewildered expressions and covered faces reveal the darker, voyeuristic side of photography. In these images, Warhol bluntly explores the limits of fame and privacy and the desire to be (or not be) visible.
