DescriptionThe piece is a translucent royal blue goblet. Two connected tendrils of glass extend up from the foot to make the stem. The pieces of glass are attached to side of the bowl to form “c” curves with large gathers of glass on their ends. The bowl is thin and blown that tapers slightly in the body and widens at the rim.Label TextDale Chihuly American, b. 1941 Goblet, late 1960s Blown glass with hot applications Gift of Alan and Barbara Boroff 2016.30.4 ProvenanceOwned by Katherin Truneck, circa 1968-1993; sold by the Tom Hall Auction Company in Plainfield, New Jersey in 1993; purchased by Alan and Barbara Boroff in 1993; gifted by the Boroffs to the Chrysler Museum of Art in 2016
