DescriptionPortrait of a middle-aged woman wearing a dark dress with wide white scarf. The subject is seated and rests her right forearm next to the table placed beside her. An excellent example of a Whitehurst gallery daguerreotype. Delicate tinting to subject’s cheeks. Full leather case, Standing Woman with Cornucopia design with Whitehurst’s spread eagle motif listing six gallery locations embossed on the velvet cushion. Half plate.
