DescriptionThis etching is a view of Paris on the Seine River from behind Notre-Dame Cathedral. It features unusually elaborate hand tinting when compared to other examples from the series. We see a stack of rough building timbers off to the right, a contrast to the fine buildings across the river and the cathedral. A row of grand houses catch the sun bursting through the clouds, in contrast to the brooding cathedral in the center. No Date
