DescriptionThese prints represent the passing of a year for the artist as they document his movements and moments at rest. The film was exposed and developed usually within days or weeks, and certainly within the year of their printing and release. In creating this time-based narrative, a challenge ensued in editing and sequencing on the fly, continuing an ongoing thread, and responding to previous images, ideas, and emotions. The 2018 Silver Print Collection contains 52 gelatin-silver photographs made by Eliot Dudik throughout the calendar year. One print was released at the end of each week in an edition of seven with two artist proofs. Each print was made on fiber based, semi-matte, warmtone paper and selenium toned.
ProvenancePurchased from the artist by the Chrysler Museum, June 2020.
