Information on the envelope this coin came in: "About 336 B.C.-Standard coin of that period-accepted everywhere at that time. This coin was held back after Alexander's death as they feared a great deal of trouble from all men of position who wished to gain power. They believed that this coin would prevent the breaking up of the empire."
