DescriptionToy caster set consisting of a Britannia metal frame with four bottles set in it (two cruets, pepper caster and a mustard jar). Each bottle is blown colorless plain glass with a band of vertical reeding on the mid-section and a bulbous collar on the shoulder. The pepper caster has a 5-hole metal top; the two cruets have tooled lips and pressed stoppers; the mustard jar has a broad mouth and a pressed cover (stopper). The metal frame is in three parts: the caster ring is held in place by the handle shaft, which screws into the base. There is a cast ornament on the handle and the base.Published ReferencesBarlow, SANDWICH GLASS INDUSTRY, Vol. III, p. 227-228 (bottles match those found on factory site, but stoppers differ slightly).
