DescriptionThis is a portrait of a young man, who is an assistant engineer in the U.S. Navy, in sercvice dress uniform of 1852 style. This is a hand-tinted daguerreotype with gilt highlighting on the uniform and hat. This daguerreotype has a brass mat and is in a floral leather case. It is a quarter plate hand-tinted daguerroeotype.
