DescriptionOne of a pair of vases. Blown, opal, ovoid urn shape with narrow flaring rim and collar-like bottom, enameled pink background and decorated in the "Aesthetic-Japanese" taste with enameled overlapping oval medallions. One vase has a pair of robins on white blossoming (prunus-like) brance which extends over the pink and other medallion a faint gray-green Oriental landscape scene. The other is the same, but has a pair of bluebirds instead of robins. This vase has a stained corner landscape medallion. Similar to American Smith Bros. enamel design on 71.5763 a&b and cone shape on 71.5760 which was loaned to Met. for 1987 Aesthetic show "In Pursuit of Beauty"
