He published 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō Road the next year. His series focused not on the beauty spots, but on the experience of the journey, mapping the exhilarating peaks along with the miserable valleys found along the procession. The Chrysler Museum is fortunate to have the entire Tōkaidō series still pasted in its album. it came to the Museum unbound, allowing for multiple prints to be displayed at once.Exhibition History"Inspiring Impressionism: Japanese Prints in the Chrysler Collection," Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, VA, March 10 - June 18, 2017.
