Inscribed"W. PEARCE" stamped on back (largely in broad protion) within a serrated rectangle and "NORFOLK" within a closer plain rectangle. Initialed "W.P.T." in embellished script. The initials are worn, particularly the "P" and "T". The "P" and "E" in Pearce are more worn than the other letters. The "F" in Norfolk is very worn, the top of the "N" and "O" are worn and these letters and "L" run into the rectangle.

DescriptionSimple fiddle back pattern with the initials "W.P.T." in embellished script. Fair condition. Many fine scratches throughout, point of bowl is worn to left and bent upward at the widest point. This spoon came through the donor's mother to her. It is said to have been purchased from the silversmith by Robert Taylor of Williamsburg, VA, an ancestor of the mother.
