DescriptionVotive idol of bronze. Central totem pole-like post has two faces with bulging eyes. Uppermost one has loop ears, turban hat. Arms extend from side of second face outward to hold the throats of two snake-like animals which form semi-circles on each side. Their mouths are open and a bird-head faces downward from the body. At the bottom of the post two birds look up; legs (or tails) converge in V-shape near end of post. Post has hole running through it. Other side has same relief. Patch of bronze disease on one upper bird head-otherwise good.Published ReferencesJ.L. Huot, PERSIA I, 1965, pl. 113, similar piece.
