DescriptionVotive idol of bronze. Central totem pole-like post has three faces with bulging eyes. Uppermost one has loop ears. Upper figure arms extend to each side holding the throats of two snake-shaped creatures which form half-circle on each side. Two bird heads with large round eyes extend below snakes. Flattened heart-shaped area is below post with two "legs" meeting at bottom. A narrow hole runs through piece top to bottom but a bronze pin (similar to NP66.65M) is wedged into the top. Other side has same relief.Published ReferencesJ.L. Huot, _Persia I_, 1965, pl. 113, similar piece.
