DescriptionManuscript probably from The Divan of Mir Ali Shi Nawai, minister to Sultan Husain Mirza. Calligraphy: Jaghati or Eastern Turkish. Mended on back at least five times. A tear about center loose. Rubbed in many places, torn and mended lower right and left edge nicked. Background, groups of flowers, golden sky, scattered Chinese clouds, black bearded monarch, red mantle, looking out from open garden house. Men, half hidden by rocks in the distance. Left and center veiled figure (Mohammed?) on a carpet; angel kneeling, colored wings. Nimbus of golden flames. Another group of men and flowering tree below.
