DescriptionLate Chimu Indian pot from the Northern coast of Peru. Black jug. The body of this pot is a somewhat flattened sphere and will not stand upright, except in a wooden stand made of a black wooden disk with three curved uprights. A small figure with a large head and pointed cap decorates the front near the base of the neck which is flanked by two flat handles.
