InscribedMarked on top of barrel: "D. Egg London" and on the lock plate "D. Egg". Round silver box in case is engraved: "John Myers/Norfolk/1810". "#119" is written in ink inside of top on wood edge about center. A label inside of top reads: "Joseph Sprately/Gun Maker/has on hand/guns, pistols, locks, and mountings/of every description/Norfolk, Virginia". A label in center of lid reads: "From the Haymarket/No 132 Strand, London. D. EGG/PATENT/GUN MAKER/To His Majesty, Prince of Wales, Duke of York & c & c e". Newspaper clipping is titled "A Memorable Duel".
