InscribedMark raised on shield in diagonal line: "PHALON & SON". This mark & the shield were probably used in conjunction with a shield-shaped paper label (now lost) for Phalon & Sons Golden Crest Perfumery. The crest illustrated in an 1860 ad had a diagonal band with the firm name across it & a civet cat? at top.
