DescriptionSmall lacquered chest of gold flecked lacquered wood decorated with two dragons which climb up each side and snarl at each other on the top. They are of sharkskin stained yellow with red flame-like protruberances. Mother-of-Pearl cloud patterns surround dragons who chase the flaming pearl which is depicted in tortoise shell at center top. Thin brass ribbons inlaid throughout as cloud patterns. Doors of chest, each containing 2 phoenix birds and vines of sharkskin, open to reveal 6 small drawers fitted below one long drawer. Top drawer contains designs of bats and trigrams, small drawers have ring pulls and floral patterns. Chest is bound with brass corners, 4 hinges on each door, large plate and brass strip center front, and large bail handles each side.Unknown
