DescriptionFigure of George Washington seated at a cloth draped table on which rest an Inkwell and the Declaration of Independence to which he is pointing. The clock face is set into the table skirt. At the side are two books and a scroll and a laurel wreath. One book is inscribed "Washington's Diary." Figure and clock are raised on an elaborate plinth with a band of leaves and other decorative devices.
