DescriptionThis is an albumen print of a historical location. The Wharfe is the name of the river and the Strid refers to the narrowing of the river where one could stride across the rushing torrent of water. This landscape is found on the Yorkshire Estate of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Named Bolton Abbey, it has been a distinct Estate for 1,000 years.
