DescriptionThis is a soft-paste porcelain punch pot with underglaze blue tranfer-printed decoration. Wheel-thrown globular body with applied handle and spout; domed lid with a pointed finial. The body, spout, handle, and lid are decorated in underglaze-blue transfer-printed patterns of garlands and sprays of various flowers (including roses and lilies), grapes, pears, and ribbons. Steam hole in lid. Inside the punch pot, there are five strainer holes at the junction of the spout. On the underside of the top of the handle is a small hole that probably served as a vent during the firing.
