DescriptionThe David L. Hack Civil War Photography Collection. This is a sepia toned photograph of a soldier in uniform. He appears elderly with white hair, crow's feet around the eyes, and strong lines going down the corners of his mouth. He has double breasted buttons down the center, a dark collar decorated with vines, and a rectangular patch with stars on top of his shoulder. In the lower left corner the hilt of his sword is visible. This is from _Gardner's Photographic Sketchbook of the War_ (Hack Collection No. 2].
