DescriptionThis is a bell of blown colorless glass, the lower half of the body ornamented with three double concentric rings, the lowest of which forms the bottom edge of the bell. The applied handle has a flattened knop finial at top, then an elongated knop, then a narrow ring knop to which the tops of four "s-scroll" lugs are attached and then finally the knop that is attached to the top of the bell. The clapper ring inside the bell is a replacement. The overall impression is that the glass imitates the appearance of a cast metal bell.ProvenanceWunsch Foundation, Inc., New York,: Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, VA, Gift of the Wunsch Foundation, Inc., 2004.
