DescriptionOne in a collection of four black and white prints depicting settlers landing and then being massarcred by Native Americans. A woodcut illustration, "Pocahontas about to be taken prisoner," showing the Indian town of Machot burning in the background beyond to ships in a stream. At a round table on the deck of a ship in the foreground, Europeans and Indians eat and confer. Two women and a man in a skin skirt stand in the left foreground. This print, out of an Albelin issue having German texts and titles, is from a block originally made for "Hamor's Present State" and John Smith's "True Description" (Latin edition). Handmade paper with myriad of fine particles throughout.
