DescriptionOval photograph of west end of Bute Street, Norfolk, VA, in a black frame with narrow moulding with glass. On the left is the residence of Mr. Wm. W. Lamb, a former Mayor of the city, and on the right is the home of Mr. Merritt Todd, Grandfather of Mr. Merritt Cooke. The boat-house, in the foreground, was a part of the Todd Estate and was connected to the mainland by a plank walk, at the land end on this walk, resting on the seawall, is shown in this picture the famous jawbone of a whale that inspired the children of that generation with delight and awe.Unknown
