DescriptionPhotograph of Bute Street in Norfolk, by "Miss" Sarah LambTyped label on back: Photograph of "The Point," or West end of Bute Street, taken in 1870. On the left is the residence, of Mr. Wm. W. Lamb, a former Mayor of the City; and on the right the home of Mr. Merritt T. Cooke. The boat-house, in the foreground, was a part of the Todd Estate and was connected to the main-landby a plank walk, at the land of this walk, resting on the sea-wall, is shown in this picture the famous jaw-bone of a whale that inspired the children of thatgeneration with delight and awe.
