DescriptionThe three glass panels are composed of about 25-30 layers of black glass that were fused in a kiln. Though they have entirely flat surfaces, each of the three panels has a trompe-l’oeil effect, created through cutting and engraving patterns in the glass that gives them the appearance of being three-dimensional. Whereas Threefold has a rounded, almost triangular form, Twofold has a rounded, almost rectangular form, and Periphery is almost spherical in form.ProvenanceMel Douglas, created in 2016; Traver Gallery, by fall 2016; purchased by the museum in December 2016
