DescriptionCopy of a painting of a close-up portrait of Anne Blaws Hansford, 1760-1836. She wears a white bonnet in the 18th century style. The subject is identified by a slip of paper affixed to the back of the case as, “Anne Blaws Hansford, / Wife of / Dr. Phil Barraud, / Great, great / grandmother of / R.H. Burroughs.” Anne Blaws Hansford was the wife of Dr. Philip Barraud, 1757-1830, an early settler and physician in Norfolk and Williamsburg, Virginia. Worn leather case. Quarter plate.1908
