DescriptionThis black and white photograph was taken in May of 1937, depicting onlookers who had gathered in Trafalgar Square to watch newly crowned King George VI's procession. A woman wearing glasses sits on the shoulds of two men. One of the men is wearing a uniform. Behind them is a crowd of people. In the right background, one of the bronze lions in the center of the square is visible. In the background, on the left, is the National Gallery of Art.ProvenancePurchased by Mike and Linda McGraw, date unknown; gifted to the Chrysler Museum of Art in 2019.
